Triberg, a historic village in the heart of the Black Forest (in southwestern Germany), is considered a birthplace of the cuckoo clock, the home of the country’s first railway (1873) and the site of its tallest waterfall (the 530-foot Gutach Falls). The hotel has 27 elegant rooms in its original building, which dates back 400 years (Napoléon Bonaparte slept here when he conquered Germany in 1806).
